Cloud Systems Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Install, configure, deploy, and maintain servers, applications, and software.

• Monitor system performance and address production issues effectively.

• Ensure the security, efficiency, and overall health of the infrastructure.

• Work within a SAFe delivery framework, collaborating with cross-functional teams.

• Provide support for IaaS, IaC, networking, and firewall components.

• Execute system upgrades and IAVA patching while ensuring compliance with STIG standards.

• Diagnose outages and implement solutions to address root causes.

• Manage AWS resources to optimize cloud environments.

• Uphold security protocols including access controls, backups, and firewalls.

• Develop and maintain internal technical documentation, runbooks, and IT policies.

• Collaborate with teams in application, data, and cybersecurity.

• Participate in upgrades, migrations, and modernization projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Active Secret Clearance.

• Over 5 years of experience as a System Administrator, Cloud Administrator, or in a similar role.

• Proficient in managing servers, networks, patching, and cloud/virtual environments.

• Hands-on experience with both Windows and Linux operating systems.

• Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.

• Relevant professional certifications or technical training.

• Experience with production Kubernetes and Amazon EKS.

• Familiarity with Active Directory and identity federation.

• Experience with STIGs, security patching, and IL4/IL5 environments.

• Proficient scripting skills (Shell, Perl, PowerShell) and automation tools.

• Expertise in Terraform (modules, state management, reusable IaC) and knowledge of Ansible.

• Understanding of observability and logging platforms (Splunk, CloudWatch).
