Cloud Ops Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Design and sustain a highly available, secure, and scalable infrastructure on AWS.

• Enhance and refine infrastructure as code, automation, and self-service tools.

• Work in conjunction with engineering, security, and DevOps teams to establish cloud and infrastructure best practices.

• Play a role in improving observability, monitoring, and incident response protocols.

• Implement security best practices across infrastructure and operational procedures.

• Engage in peer code reviews and disseminate knowledge among team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• Approximately 4+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure and production services.

• Practical experience managing production workloads in AWS with DevOps best practices.

• Strong skills in scripting and automation using Python (required), or PowerShell or Bash.

• Familiarity with Linux and/or Windows environments.

• Experience in automating operational workloads and infrastructure within AWS.

• Knowledge of configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or similar.

• Proficient Python scripting abilities and experience with .NET, Ruby, Java, or PowerShell.

• Understanding of CI/CD concepts, tools, and pipeline architecture.

• Experience in Agile and DevOps environments.

• Background in supporting distributed and highly available AWS applications or services.

• Strong Linux administration capabilities and a working knowledge of Windows systems.

• Familiarity with networking fundamentals, including DNS, load balancing, and firewalls.

• Experience with serverless architectures such as AWS Lambda and API Gateway.

• Involvement in peer code reviews and adherence to software engineering best practices.
