Cloud Ops Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Construct and uphold a highly available, secure, and scalable AWS-based infrastructure.

• Enhance and optimize infrastructure-as-code, automation, and self-service tools.

• Work alongside engineering, security, and DevOps teams to establish cloud and infrastructure best practices.

• Contribute to observability, monitoring, and incident response initiatives.

• Implement security best practices within infrastructure and operational workflows.

• Engage in peer code reviews and disseminate engineering expertise.

⛳️ Requirements

• Approximately 4+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure and production services.

• Practical experience managing production workloads in AWS utilizing DevOps best practices.

• Proficient in Python scripting and automation (mandatory), with familiarity in PowerShell/Bash.

• Experience with Linux and/or Windows operating systems.

• Background in automating operational tasks and infrastructure within AWS.

• Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or similar.

• Python skills along with experience in .NET, Ruby, Java, or PowerShell.

• Knowledge of CI/CD principles, tools, and pipeline architecture.

• Experience in Agile and DevOps settings.

• Background in supporting distributed and highly available AWS applications or services.

• Strong Linux administration skills and a working knowledge of Windows systems.

• Understanding of networking principles, including DNS, load balancing, and firewalls.

• Familiarity with or knowledge of serverless architectures such as AWS Lambda and API Gateway.

• Experience in participating in peer code reviews and adhering to software engineering best practices.
