Cloud Infrastructure Engineer – Automation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Automate the provisioning and lifecycle management of AWS identity, compute, storage, backups, networking, logging, and monitoring services utilizing Terraform or similar Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.

• Deploy, configure, secure, and maintain infrastructure across AWS and hybrid environments.

• Standardize reusable IaC modules to enhance consistency across development, testing, and production environments.

• Construct and refine CI/CD pipelines alongside modern DevOps workflows.

• Diagnose infrastructure and automation challenges to guarantee reliability, performance, and operational continuity.

• Implement enhancements for logging and monitoring, along with actionable dashboards.

• Employ cybersecurity best practices while supporting zero-trust and compliance-aligned infrastructure operations.

• Collaborate with security and networking teams to establish secure configurations, change controls, and audit-ready processes.

• Assist in business continuity, disaster recovery, and operational preparedness.

• Work in collaboration with engineering, security, networking, application, data engineering, and data science teams.

• Facilitate infrastructure for data pipelines and machine learning workflows.

• Maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), system diagrams, and secure configuration baselines.

• Present insights and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD Public Trust; approved adjudication is required before onboarding.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, Computer Science, or a related field, or four equivalent years of experience in place of a degree.

• A minimum of six years of practical experience in AWS, cloud infrastructure, and/or enterprise IT operations.

• Strong hands-on proficiency with Terraform for automating AWS infrastructure.

• Experience in building and operating CI/CD pipelines and implementing DevOps practices using Git, Terraform, Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline, and Docker.

• Proficient scripting skills in Python and Bash.

• Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices, concepts of zero-trust, and compliance frameworks such as NIST, CIS, and ISO 27000.

• Experience utilizing AI-assisted coding tools like GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Cursor, or Kiro.

• Capability to work both independently and collaboratively across Engineering, DevOps, and Architecture functions.

• Eligibility for Public Trust and ability to undergo federal background screening.

• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional or equivalent certification is preferred.

• CompTIA Security+ certification is preferred.

• Experience with lakehouse platforms such as Databricks or AWS S3, Lake Formation, Glue, and Athena is preferred.

• Ability to design and optimize AWS data solutions, including migration pipelines, ETL workflows, and serverless architectures is preferred.

• Familiarity with CloudWatch and Splunk is preferred.

• Experience in supporting enterprise business continuity and disaster recovery solutions is preferred.
