Lead DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Manage the design, implementation, and upkeep of DevOps processes and infrastructure.

• Guide and mentor a team of DevOps engineers.

• Create, implement, and sustain CI/CD pipelines for automation in building, testing, and deployment.

• Prioritize tasks with an emphasis on enhancing developer productivity.

• Oversee and optimize cloud infrastructure for scalability, performance, and cost efficiency.

• Create and maintain monitoring and alerting systems in collaboration with SRE.

• Apply and uphold security best practices across both infrastructure and applications.

• Work alongside software developers to enhance application performance and reliability.

• Engage in disaster recovery and business continuity planning and execution.

• Report project statuses, challenges, and suggestions to stakeholders.

• Take part in an on-call rotation for system support.


⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in a DevOps capacity, including 2 years in a leadership role.

• Advanced knowledge of cloud concepts and services (EC2, S3, RDS, A/ELB, EBS, VPC, Route53 or similar).

• Proficient understanding of Linux.

• Strong scripting capabilities for automation and tool development.

• Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, resolve, and document root cause analysis of incidents.

• Solid understanding of database configuration, concepts, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

• Comprehensive understanding of security principles and experience in designing, implementing, and monitoring appropriate controls.

• Significant experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and configuration management tools (Terraform, SaltStack or similar).

• Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes, ECS, including management of microservices architectures.

• Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Github Actions, or equivalent.

• Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Datadog, Cloud Watch, or equivalent.

• Exceptional communication and leadership abilities, with a talent for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
