Cloud FinOps Consulting Intern

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with the Solutions Group that specializes in FinOps consulting solutions related to cloud and AI.

• Evaluate AWS, Google, and Azure cloud environments to uncover opportunities for enhancing cloud efficiency.

• Acquire and implement FinOps principles and cloud financial management practices, including cost allocation, optimization, forecasting, budgeting, and financial accountability.

• Investigate FinOps applications for AI and token economics, assessing the costs associated with generative AI workloads and linking AI usage to business value.

• Observe consultants and engineers during ongoing client projects.

• Aid in FinOps backend administration and participate in internal planning meetings.

• Produce PowerPoint presentations, solution briefs, process documentation, and best-practice guidelines.

• Attend client calls and document meeting minutes.

• Provide support for customer-facing FinOps reports, analyses, dashboards, presentations, and recommendations.

• Utilize cloud cost-management and FinOps tools to convert billing data into actionable insights.

• Assist in designing internal operational efficiencies using AI tools.

• Develop dashboards and reporting for AI expenditures, consumption patterns, model usage, and unit economics.

• Investigate emerging practices, tools, cloud-provider capabilities, and industry trends related to FinOps for AI.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be enrolled in the senior year of an undergraduate program at an accredited college or university, or be a Master's student.

• Pursuing a non-engineering degree such as Business, Finance, MIS, etc.

• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher; applicants for People and Organizational Health may need to provide a copy of their transcript.

• Academic or professional/internship experience in a professional environment is advantageous.

• Capability to work independently on assigned tasks while being open to guidance on assignments.

• Self-driven individuals with a customer-focused mindset and a willingness to assist others.

• Passion for technical problem-solving with strong attention to detail and effective communication skills.

• Ability to learn and conduct research within a dynamic and engaging setting.

• Availability to commit to 40 hours per week throughout the internship duration.

• Familiarity with the Office 365 environment.

• Cloud Fundamentals Certification is optional – such as AZ-900, AWS Cloud Practitioner, or Google Cloud Fundamentals.
