Cloud Engineer I – Azure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Oversee Azure infrastructure, applications, and services utilizing approved monitoring tools.

• Acknowledge, triage, and respond to alerts and incidents within the established SLAs.

• Conduct first-level troubleshooting and resolution of infrastructure-related issues.

• Escalate unresolved or complex incidents to L2/L3 support teams as necessary.

• Engage in major incident bridges and provide timely updates on progress.

• Accurately document incidents, service requests, and resolutions.

• Monitor and support Azure Virtual Machines operating on both Windows and Linux.

• Execute routine operational tasks on Azure resources.

• Oversee Azure networking components, including Virtual Networks, Load Balancers, and VPN connections.

• Assist with Azure Backup and recovery operations.

• Help with storage administration and monitor capacity.

• Validate scheduled jobs and maintenance activities.

• Conduct routine health checks on servers and infrastructure components.

• Support patching and maintenance activities.

• Troubleshoot issues related to Windows Server and Linux patching and backup.

• Execute standard service requests and operational tasks.

• Support approved changes under supervision and validate system health pre- and post-changes.

• Maintain operational records and change documentation.

• Keep operational runbooks, SOPs, and knowledge articles updated.

• Provide comprehensive shift handovers to incoming support teams.

• Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.

• Contribute to process improvement initiatives and operational reviews.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• 1–3 years of experience in Infrastructure Support, Cloud Operations, Service Desk, or Technical Support.

• Preferred exposure to Microsoft Azure environments.

• Experience in supporting Windows and Linux operating systems.

• Foundational knowledge of Microsoft Azure cloud services.

• Basic system administration skills required.

• Basic knowledge or operational support experience with Azure Virtual Machines, Virtual Networks, Network Security Groups, Storage Accounts, Azure Backup, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics Workspace, Azure Alerts and Action Groups, Azure DNS, and Recovery Services Vault.

• Proficiency in Windows administration, Event Viewer analysis, disk and file system management, and service monitoring.

• Basic knowledge of PowerShell scripting.

• Experience in Linux administration, service management, log analysis, and basic shell scripting.

• Familiarity with Azure Monitor, AlertOps, or other infrastructure monitoring tools.

• Experience with ITSM platforms like ServiceNow or HaloITSM.

• Understanding of cloud security concepts.

• Exposure to Azure DevOps and automation tools.

• Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery concepts.

• Understanding of ITIL processes and best practices.

• Strong troubleshooting and analytical capabilities.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to operate effectively in a 24x7 rotational shift environment.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Good documentation and reporting abilities.

• Capacity to prioritize tasks and manage multiple incidents concurrently.

• Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn new technologies.
