Cloud Database Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Develop new iterations of NoSQL databases, assess security updates, provide Level 3 support, and manage technology and Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC).

• Create and sustain production-ready infrastructure utilizing Terraform with automated, version-controlled deployments.

• Establish monitoring, logging, and alerting systems through Dynatrace; define and oversee Service Level Indicators (SLIs), Service Level Objectives (SLOs), and error budgets.

• Construct internal tools and documentation for application developers while ensuring compliance and governance are upheld.

• Track cloud usage and apply cost-saving measures such as Committed Use Discounts and compute rightsizing.

• Uphold security protocols through IAM roles, Workload Identity, and Organization Policy Service; guarantee Recovery Time Objective (RTO) and Recovery Point Objective (RPO) requirements.

• Implement secure AI Client-to-MCP Server authentication via GCP IAM Workload Identity and OAuth2.

• Enable end-to-end tracing from AI Agent to MCP Server to GCP Data Source.

• Design solutions for high availability and disaster recovery in NoSQL databases.

• Author and assist developers with Terraform, Blueprints, and API integrations.

• Create and manage Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

• Deliver database functionalities through enhancements in the GitHub repository.

• Construct observability dashboards and integrate GCP database logs with Dynatrace, including DQL-based anomaly detection.

• Develop and implement non-relational database solutions on GCP.

• Provision, configure, and optimize database infrastructure through query tuning, indexing, and capacity planning.

• Migrate on-premises databases to GCP ensuring data integrity and minimal downtime.

• Create and maintain both logical and physical data models.

• Apply database security measures and encryption using the Peach dashboard and Cycode.

• Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues using Dynatrace, Query Insights, and System Insights.

• Write, review, and deploy Terraform scripts; maintain service module repositories.

• Design and manage Miro board diagrams and workflows.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in computer science, information technology, or a related technology field is required.

• At least 7 years of comprehensive IT experience.

• Minimum of 3 years in database administration or engineering roles.

• Strong expertise in GCP non-relational databases, including Mongo Atlas, Neo4j AuraDB, Firestore, Bigtable, Memorystore for Redis, and Memorystore for Valkey.

• GCP Cloud Associate Cloud Engineer certification is preferred.

• Familiarity with Cloud Run and Cloud Functions for event-driven architectures.

• Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices, including Terraform, VS Code, GitHub, Python, and Cloud Run.
