
Clinical Sales Manager – Eastern Region

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Drive sales growth and increase test volume within a designated territory by acquiring new hospital clients and boosting volume in current hospitals.
• Present Karius’ Next-Generation Sequencing diagnostic technology to hospital stakeholders responsible for implementing new diagnostic tests.
• Collaborate with Inside Sales, Customer Success, Medical Affairs, Marketing, Sales, and Product leadership to meet objectives and provide market insights.
• Cultivate thought leaders and early adopters of Karius’ infectious disease diagnostic solutions.
• Establish, manage, and develop relationships with hospital and health system accounts throughout a regional territory.
• Prioritize and categorize accounts to optimize opportunities and growth potential.
• Demonstrate product features and advantages using consultative sales techniques, including qualifying leads, assessing needs, facilitating evaluations, and closing sales.
• Oversee initial evaluations to promote early adoption and increased usage of Karius tests and solutions.
• Act as a subject matter expert on the science and technology behind the Karius test and its clinical significance.
• Forge relationships, educate stakeholders, and foster consensus among both prospective and existing partners.
• Illustrate ROI and maintain regular account interactions and utilization assessments.
• Secure and renew contracts and agreements with partners.
• Collaborate with Clinical/Medical Affairs teams and Medical Science Liaisons for both remote and in-person partner engagements and follow-ups.
• Work alongside Customer Success to onboard accounts, address concerns and risks, manage expectations, and track partner health.
• Identify and co-manage regional meetings, Key Opinion Leader panels, and local market initiatives in partnership with Marketing.
• Engage in sales meetings, training sessions, conventions, and industry trade shows.
• Complete Salesforce documentation, expense reports, speaker program details, and other administrative tasks accurately and punctually.
• Report to the Regional Sales Director.
• Bachelor's degree.
• 5 years of experience in sales/business development within the Life Sciences, Biotech, Medical Device, Diagnostic Equipment, and/or Pharmaceutical sectors.
• Valid driver's license.
• Proven success in introducing innovative products or services to physicians and hospitals that transformed clinical practice prior to significant peer-reviewed publications or guideline incorporation.
• Extensive network of relationships in hospitals and health systems, including microbiology labs, send-out labs, physician groups, C-level executives, and clinical-function administrators.
• Strong vision and planning skills for territory growth.
• Exceptional business acumen, analytical capabilities, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to cultivate relationships across all levels, from C-level executives to physicians and lab directors, establishing credibility through expertise in the subject matter and industry.
• Proven record of achieving top sales performance, meeting, and exceeding sales targets.
• Experience in multi-level account management.
• Capacity to multitask in a dynamic, ambiguous, and growth-focused environment.
• Willingness to collaborate with customer-facing teams and share best practices.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, allocate resources, take responsibility, and achieve outcomes.
• Strong presentation and negotiation skills; capable of facilitating discussions with both small and large groups.
• High ethical standards, integrity, confidentiality, and the ability to build trusting professional relationships.

• Willingness to travel up to 70%.
