
Clinical Educator – Midwest Region

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Assess clinical compliance and quality in all areas of clinical operations.
• Manage and coordinate local orientation and ongoing continuing education for clinical team members in the designated region.
• Create and support scenario and clinical content for new hires and returning clinical staff.
• Mentor clinicians who are undergoing clinical education plans.
• Organize activities to obtain and uphold accreditation and reaccreditation.
• Engage in air medical research.
• Facilitate new employee orientation, including scheduling and base assignments.
• Provide leadership and mentoring to orientees and preceptors, incorporating area-specific training on local protocols and procedures.
• Collaborate with RCEM and RCD regarding the clinical preceptorship of new employees.
• Maintain educational resources for flight crews to enhance clinical quality.
• Instruct and assess clinical competency within simulation labs, invasive labs, and other learning technology programs.
• Spearhead content development and continuing education related to accreditation, regulation, and credentialing compliance.
• Support management decisions that influence clinical practice and develop educational programs for new and evolving care initiatives.
• Assist in formulating policies and procedures aimed at ensuring clinical quality.
• Design simulation and learning technology scenarios to elevate clinical competency.
• Evaluate team performance using objective, evidence-based assessment tools and statistical analysis.
• Assess regional educational needs, covering didactic, clinical, certification, specialty equipment, and training requirements.
• Lead annual competency training, protocol evaluations, and initial training for new equipment and procedures.
• Aid in updating medical standards and guidelines.
• Contribute to region-specific guidance for the Training Blueprint.
• Participate in committees and workgroups to influence patient care improvements.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) or a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN); along with five or more years of relevant experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A minimum of four years of prior flight experience.
• At least two years of experience in education or instruction.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a high level of collaboration across all levels.
• Capable of multitasking effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects while maintaining strong attention to detail.
• Experience in high-fidelity simulation is preferred.
• Subject matter expertise in one or more areas such as ventilation, airway management, mechanical circulatory devices, resuscitation, high-risk obstetrics, pediatrics, or neonatal management.
• Willingness to participate in and rotate as administrator on call for specialty equipment and high-risk patient populations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Familiarity with Smartsheet or other software as a service (SaaS).
• Current Flight Nurse or Flight Paramedic Specialty certification compliant with CAMTS standards.
• CFRN or FP-C certification is required.
• At least one current instructor card, such as BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, PHTLS, ITLS, TNCC, or TNATC.
• Must achieve instructor status for all AHA-required courses (BLS, ACLS, PALS) within three months of hire.
