Clinical Education Coordinator, Nursing Programs

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Manage a clinical and skills lab teaching load of roughly two days each week at clinical and/or simulation lab locations.

• Demonstrate exceptional clinical instruction.

• Transition to provide backup clinical instructor coverage as the team expands.

• Recruit, hire, onboard, train, and cultivate clinical instructors.

• Act as the primary contact for clinical faculty inquiries, concerns, and escalations.

• Experiment with AI tools and documentation systems to enhance instructor onboarding and support.

• Establish and nurture relationships with clinical site partners.

• Secure new clinical partners as programs grow.

• Serve as a liaison between clinical instructors and site staff to resolve issues.

• Conduct site visits and evaluate acuity, patient populations, and learning opportunities.

• Stay informed about clinical site policies and procedures.

• Oversee onboarding logistics for instructors at each site.

• Manage clinical site assignments and rotation scheduling for various cohorts.

• Maintain a comprehensive schedule of student placements, faculty assignments, and unit locations.

• Confirm clinical-day coverage and arrange for substitutes as necessary.

• Facilitate student computer access, badging, and agency orientation.

• Keep records of agency availability and adjust schedules accordingly.

• Keep the Program Director and Dean of Nursing updated on clinical changes and developments.

• Maintain clinical paperwork, compliance records, evaluations, and documentation for the Board of Nursing.

• Track instructor credentialing, health requirements, and site-specific clearances.

• Manage electronic tracking of clinical requirements and communicate expired records.

• Collaborate on clinical agency evaluations for quality improvement and accreditation.

• Ensure clinical records are audit-ready for Board of Nursing and accreditation reviews.

• Report to the Dean of Nursing while connecting clinical instructors, site partners, and academic leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• Active, unrestricted compact (multistate) RN license, or eligibility to obtain one.

• Master’s degree in nursing (mandatory for accreditation purposes).

• Over 2 years of experience teaching clinicals in a nursing education program.

• Background in training, onboarding, or mentoring clinical instructors or preceptors.

• Current BLS/CPR certification at the healthcare provider level.

• Capability to meet clinical site health and immunization requirements, including necessary vaccinations and background checks.

• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.

• Strong organizational abilities and comfort managing schedules, documentation, and logistics across multiple sites.

• Relationship-focused approach with site staff, instructors, and students.

• Eligibility to work in the United States and meet applicable employment authorization requirements.
