Clinical Coordinator, Nursing Programs

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Deliver a clinical and skills lab teaching load of around two days each week at clinical and/or simulation lab locations.

• Exemplify outstanding clinical instruction.

• Transition to providing backup clinical instructor support as the team expands.

• Recruit, hire, and onboard new clinical instructors.

• Train and mentor clinical instructors.

• Act as the primary point of contact for questions, issues, and escalations from clinical faculty.

• Experiment with AI tools and documentation systems to enhance the onboarding and support for instructors.

• Establish and nurture relationships with clinical site partners.

• Acquire new clinical partners as programs develop.

• Serve as a liaison between clinical instructors and site personnel.

• Conduct site visits and align sites with program objectives.

• Remain updated on clinical site policies and procedures.

• Manage onboarding logistics for instructors at each site.

• Oversee clinical site assignments and rotation scheduling across cohorts.

• Maintain a comprehensive schedule of student placements, faculty assignments, and unit locations.

• Confirm coverage for every scheduled clinical day and arrange for substitutes when necessary.

• Facilitate computer access, badging, and student orientation at clinical agencies.

• Keep records of agency availability and make schedule adjustments as needed.

• Keep the Program Director and Dean of Nursing updated on clinical changes and developments.

• Maintain clinical documentation, compliance records, evaluations, and Board of Nursing paperwork.

• Track instructor credentialing, health requirements, and site-specific clearances.

• Manage electronic tracking of clinical requirements and communicate any outdated records.

• Collaborate on evaluations of clinical agencies for quality improvement and accreditation purposes.

• Ensure that clinical records are always audit-ready for Board of Nursing and accreditation reviews.

⛳️ Requirements

• Active, unrestricted compact (multistate) RN license, or eligibility to obtain one.

• Master’s degree in nursing (required for accreditation purposes).

• Over 2 years of experience teaching clinicals in a nursing education program.

• Experience in training, onboarding, or mentoring clinical instructors or preceptors.

• Current BLS/CPR certification at the healthcare provider level.

• Ability to fulfill clinical site health and immunization requirements, including necessary vaccinations and background checks.

• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.

• Strong organizational skills and comfort managing schedules, documentation, and logistics across multiple locations.

• A relationship-focused approach with site staff, instructors, and students.
