This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.
• Lead the strategic growth and collaboration initiatives with prominent U.S. cancer centers, clinics, large oncology practices, Key Opinion Leaders, and Academic Medical Centers within the assigned territory.
• Develop strategic plans aimed at acquiring and retaining both new and existing clients.
• Optimize client-bill contracting opportunities.
• Execute laboratory services agreements with billing account institutions.
• Work alongside sales roles across Tempus to achieve company goals and objectives.
• Identify and cultivate partnership opportunities between potential oncology clients and Tempus.
• Advocate for and drive compliance with web-based molecular information tools for clients.
• Evaluate the competitive landscape and assigned accounts to identify trends and relay customer insights to leadership.
• Track sales performance to ensure objectives are met.
• Create and implement a comprehensive territory business plan that includes budgets, travel, territory management, and goal setting.
• Collaborate effectively across various departments within Tempus.
• Represent the Tempus culture to both external and internal stakeholders.
• Candidate must be based in the Memphis area.
• Ability to deliver integrated MolDx/SaaS solutions utilizing sequencing technology.
• Strong consultative selling skills with the capacity to address objections effectively.
• Comfortable engaging with executives, including CEOs, COOs, and CFOs.
• Familiarity with the oncology diagnostics payor and reimbursement landscape.
• Capable of working independently, communicating proactively, managing multiple projects, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines.
• In-depth understanding of molecular diagnostics in oncology and the competitive environment.
• Knowledge of market, customer, distribution, and product dynamics.
• Familiarity with oncology, hematology, chemotherapeutics, and targeted therapies.
• Exceptional negotiation and customer service abilities.
• Proficient in strategic sales account planning.
• Strong listening and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage sensitive information with confidentiality.
• Consistent ability to close throughout the sales cycle.
• Proficient in oral, verbal, written communication, and presentation skills.
• Advanced skills with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
• Regular and effective use of Salesforce.com.
• Skills in developing cross-functional relationships.
• Strong presentation skills and business acumen.
• Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and technical learning capabilities.
• Solid administrative skills for managing complex business settings.

• Willingness to travel frequently, exceeding 50% within the territory.
• Bachelor’s degree in life science, biology, business, or marketing; MBA preferred.
• 2–3 years of direct account management experience in a molecular diagnostic context with a proven track record.
• 3–5 years of experience engaging with major cancer centers and clinics, oncology GPOs, large health systems, IHDNs, and substantial oncology practices.
• Proven measurable revenue generation experience in a diagnostic, pharmaceutical, or relevant biotechnology company.
