This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
β’ Oversee the execution of the vetting and development processes for designated Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) projects, ensuring that the projects on the Supercritical platform meet the highest quality standards. You will receive training and guidance from our knowledgeable Lead Climate Scientist and Director of Climate Science.
β’ Create and enhance our CDR quality benchmarks and vetting systems, keeping abreast of the latest progress in climate science.
β’ Independently implement commercial vetting frameworks to evaluate project feasibility and long-term credit delivery.
β’ Foster relationships with our CDR project suppliers by providing feedback and sharing insights from the market.
β’ Become an in-house authority on the specifics of our CDR project suppliers while remaining updated on the latest scientific advancements.
β’ Assist the sales and marketing team by participating in initiatives that advocate for climate thought leadership and educating prospective CDR buyers.
β’ MSc or higher in chemical engineering, environmental science, or a related natural science such as chemistry, or a BEng/BSc paired with 3β5 years of pertinent work experience.
β’ Extensive knowledge of biomass-based CDR pathways such as biochar or bioenergy.
β’ Prior experience in the climate and sustainability sector; academic, consulting, commercial, government, NGO, etc.
β’ A strong sense of curiosity and a comprehensive understanding of carbon, climate, and sustainability challenges, coupled with a genuine commitment to real climate impact.
β’ Exceptional attention to detail and a passion for delving deeper to uncover underlying truths.
β’ Outstanding communication skills and a dedication to clear scientific discourse. Your writing is concise and impactful.
β’ Strong analytical abilities and proficient use of Excel/spreadsheets.
β’ Enthusiasm for dynamic work environments and a high level of resilience and adaptability to uncertainty.
β’ Familiarity with one or more of the following would be advantageous, particularly in a CDR or biochar context: LCA, carbon accounting, financial modeling, TEA, MRV plans, or environmental impact assessments.
β’ Basic salary: Β£50,000βΒ£62,500 per annum, based on experience.
β’ Annual leave: unlimited.
β’ One company-wide day off on the first Friday of each month.
β’ Pension: 3% employer contribution matched by a 5% employee contribution.
β’ Hybrid working: remote-first with the option to utilize our London co-working space 1-2 days a week.
