This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
β’ Take ownership of the complete Consumer Products sales process, from initial outreach to signed agreements.
β’ Create and sustain a strong sales pipeline through networking, referrals, and strategic outreach efforts.
β’ Prepare proposals that clearly communicate Propeller's value to discerning buyers.
β’ Partner with business development and leadership teams on strategic initiatives.
β’ Enhance existing accounts and drive client referrals.
β’ Act as the main relationship manager and CFO advisor for a portfolio of Consumer Products clients.
β’ Transform monthly financial reviews into strategic discussions for decision-making.
β’ Engage in client leadership meetings and board preparations with direct access to the CEO.
β’ Offer financial insights, operational guidance, and support for business strategy.
β’ Identify opportunities for service expansion.
β’ Assemble and lead engagement teams comprising U.S. and international personnel.
β’ Delegate work related to FP&A, accounting, and controller functions.
β’ Set clear expectations while ensuring quality and timeliness of deliverables.
β’ Mentor and nurture team members through coaching and constructive feedback.
β’ Conduct portfolio reviews and disseminate best practices.
β’ Oversee the financial performance of the portfolio, optimizing margins, utilization, and profitability.
β’ Manage resource allocation, pricing strategies, and engagement scopes.
β’ Utilize Propeller Intelligence Engine (PIE) and Propeller Data Lake (PDL).
β’ Document workflows and contribute to the development of repeatable processes for PropellerOS.
β’ Enhance institutional knowledge and continuously refine service delivery.
β’ CPA and/or MBA is preferred.
β’ 12+ years of experience in finance/accounting, including at least 5 years in CFO or senior financial leadership roles.
β’ Demonstrated success in business development, with a history of identifying, nurturing, and closing new client relationships.
β’ A strong preference for candidates with multi-client or consulting backgrounds (Big 4, boutique advisory, fractional CFO services, or similar).
β’ Experience with Consumer Products companies generating revenues between $5M and $100M+.
β’ Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams.
β’ Strong executive presence; adept at presenting to boards, CEOs, and sophisticated stakeholders.
β’ Experience in developing financial processes and systems within complex, growing organizations.
β’ In-depth expertise in at least one of the following areas: Direct-to-Consumer/E-commerce, Consumer Packaged Goods, or Omnichannel Retail/Brand.
β’ Expertise in DTC/E-commerce may encompass CAC, LTV, channel economics, fulfillment and logistics cost management, and familiarity with Shopify/Amazon ecosystems.
β’ CPG expertise could include trade spend management, retailer margin structures, inventory management, COGS optimization, promotional ROI analysis, and negotiations with retail partners.
β’ Omnichannel Retail/Brand expertise may involve wholesale vs. DTC channel mix, inventory turns, sell-through rates, gross margin management, retail expansion planning, and supply chain finance.
β’ Relationship-driven, systems thinker, team-oriented, entrepreneurial, technically adept, and committed to continuous learning.
β’ Familiarity with modern tools and a willingness to utilize AI-enabled platforms.
