Client Funds Accounting Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct daily bank reconciliations for payroll, tax, and benefits accounts.

• Examine and verify deposits, withdrawals, and other financial transactions related to banking.

• Investigate and address discrepancies between bank statements, cash balance accounts, and outstanding items.

• Monitor daily and weekly cash balances by client as well as across the entire client base.

• Ensure timely remittances and accurate recording and clearing of cash collections.

• Adjust cash based on financial reports.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to facilitate system corrections.

• Liaise with the bank regarding returned items and inquiries.

• Report exceptions in payroll, tax, and benefits to partners for assessment and resolution.

• Reconcile incoming wires/ACHs for payroll and tax accounts.

• Review and reconcile client credits.

• Provide payment verification to the Tax Department.

• Assist in monthly financial reconciliations.

• Monitor incoming emails for the CFA team and ensure timely replies.

• Propose and document procedures to improve processes.

• Promote ongoing process enhancements.

• Support new business initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.

• 2-5+ years of experience in payroll services or banking operations is highly preferred.

• Experience with MasterTax, WEX, and CobraPoint is an advantage.

• Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

• Exceptional attention to detail.

• Strong work ethic, both individually and within a team setting.

• Excellent communication skills and problem-solving capabilities.

• Proficient in Microsoft applications, including Excel and Access.

• High level of integrity.

• Capacity to sit for extended periods, typically 7-8 hours a day.

• Ability to operate computer and phone systems while typing.

• Skilled in using multiple software programs and inquiries concurrently.

• Must be available five days a week during specified work hours.
