This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +1 more state.
• Oversee various teams of examiners and technical personnel responsible for liability claims.
• Assess colleagues' workloads, provide training, and supervise individual claim activities.
• Offer technical and jurisdictional guidance on the adjudication of claims.
• Maintain claim diaries, including regular updates on complex or high-exposure claims.
• Detect trends, issues, and challenges, and advise management on recommended actions.
• Coordinate management initiatives and ongoing process improvement projects.
• Compile, review, and analyze management reports, taking appropriate actions as necessary.
• Conduct quality reviews on claims to ensure compliance with audit, service contract, and quality standards.
• Serve as the second-level appeal authority for client and claimant concerns.
• Evaluate reserve amounts for high-cost claims and those exceeding examiner authority.
• Monitor third-party, litigated, serious vocational rehabilitation, questionable, and sensitive claims.
• Maintain client communication, foster professional relationships, and provide claim recommendations along with written summaries.
• Ensure that direct reports hold the necessary licenses in serviced jurisdictions.
• Confirm that claims files are accurately coded and thoroughly documented.
• Implement company personnel policies and staffing standards.
• Conduct interviews, hire staff, develop performance plans, and lead performance discussions.
• Offer support, guidance, leadership, and motivation to enhance performance.
• Contribute to the organization's quality programs.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.
• Licenses as mandated.
• Relevant professional certifications applicable to the line of business are preferred.
• Six (6) years of claims experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• Two (2) years of experience in a claims supervisory role.
• Comprehensive understanding of claims management processes and procedures across multiple product lines.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including proficiency in presentations.
• Proficient in PC use, including Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong leadership and management capabilities.
• Excellent analytical and interpretive abilities.
• Capability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
• Proven ability to meet or exceed performance competencies.
• Proficient keyboarding skills.
