This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Oversee the daily operations of the Workers’ Compensation claims team.

• Assist the Claims Manager in the recruitment, interviewing, and onboarding processes for new employees.

• Ensure that staff adheres to Workers’ Compensation regulations and necessary reporting obligations.

• Enhance team performance through effective training, coaching, and regular performance assessments.

• Suggest merit-based actions, pending managerial approval.

• Offer technical and jurisdictional expertise on intricate compensability, investigation, and litigation matters.

• Serve as a liaison by proposing and implementing final resolutions for clients and employees.

• Engage in customer claim evaluations and presentations.

• Support the objectives of the claims department and CorVel.

• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or a combination of relevant education and experience.

• At least 5 years of experience in claims handling.

• Comprehensive knowledge of Workers’ Compensation is essential.

• A current license or certification in Workers’ Compensation claims must be maintained throughout employment with CorVel.

• State certification or license as a seasoned claims adjuster.

• Proven public speaking abilities.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong quantitative, analytical, and interpretive abilities.

• Demonstrated leadership, management, and motivational capabilities.

• Proven customer service skills.

• Proficient with computers and possess technical skills, including in Microsoft Office and Excel spreadsheets.

• Strong interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills.

• Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team setting.

• Familiarity with claims administration, case management, and cost containment strategies relevant to Workers’ Compensation.

• Willingness to travel overnight and attend meetings as necessary.
