This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee assigned claims and loss analysis tasks in accordance with federal and state laws, as well as the requirements of investors, insurers, agencies, and the company.
• Supervise loan work queues and ensure that necessary claims and loss analysis milestones are achieved accurately and punctually.
• Conduct loss analysis assessments, reconcile cash flow, identify discrepancies, and ascertain if supplemental claims are warranted.
• Evaluate and confirm the accuracy, completeness, and policy compliance of claim submissions.
• Track unpaid claims, address exceptions, and resolve any outstanding issues.
• Investigate denied claims to identify root causes and coordinate corrective actions or supplemental filings.
• Analyze findings from supplemental claims and pinpoint opportunities for corrections, coaching, and process enhancements.
• Examine high-risk, escalated, or complex files and document findings, recommendations, and resolution efforts.
• Oversee exception and control reporting to recognize and mitigate risks, deficiencies, and compliance issues.
• Advise attorneys, investors, insurers, and internal business partners regarding claims requirements, timelines, documentation, and issue resolution.
• Keep track of cases, timelines, issues, and audits.
• Conduct portfolio-level analyses to discover trends, recurring problems, financial risks, and operational opportunities.
• Stay informed about regulatory requirements and guidelines from GSEs, investors, insurers, agencies, and the company.
• Monitor changes in regulatory and state laws affecting claims and mortgage servicing.
• Assist in the development and implementation of procedures to enhance the accuracy, efficiency, and compliance of claims and loss analysis.
• Support reporting, workflow metrics, KPIs, and quality control measures.
• Engage in first-line-of-defense control activities to ensure adherence to established controls.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of claims, analyses, research, findings, and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external business partners on intricate issues.
• Contribute to team collaboration, accountability, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction.
• Assist with initiatives for process improvement and departmental projects.
• High School Diploma / GED is required.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in mortgage servicing, with a focus on claims and/or loss analysis.
• Proven experience in identifying and resolving claims exceptions, denials, supplemental claims, and financial discrepancies.
• Preferred experience in First Line of Defense controls and operational risk management.
• Familiarity with workflow management, exception reporting, and KPI/performance reporting.
• Strong understanding of mortgage servicing claims processes, loss analysis, timelines, and financial reconciliation.
• Knowledge of federal regulations, state laws, and GSE/government, investor, insurer, and agency requirements.
• Experience with BKFS and BKFS Desktop Solutions is preferred.
• Strong analytical skills with the capability to investigate complex issues, identify root causes, reconcile financial data, and make sound judgments.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills, capable of prioritizing multiple tasks while meeting tight deadlines.
