Claims Facilitator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky.

📋 Description

• Settle claims within the limits of authority with minimal supervision.

• Process first-party automobile claims, third-party clear-liability automobile claims, and low-severity property claims.

• Communicate with policyholders and claimants, verify coverage, establish reserves, issue payments using approved methods, and finalize claims.

• Initiate contact with all parties involved in claims in accordance with ERIE’s standards.

• Address inquiries from policyholders, agents, insurance carriers, claimants, and other stakeholders.

• Input loss information into the claims management system.

• Draft correspondence, forms, and associated materials.

• Regularly assess pending claims and associated activities.

• Provide assistance for property claims during peak periods of activity.

• Adhere to other job-related directives and undertake additional responsibilities as requested by the supervisor.

⛳️ Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED, along with one year of relevant experience in claims handling, customer service, or clerical work is required; or an equivalent educational background.

• Pursuit of general insurance education is preferred.

• Acquire the necessary licenses as mandated by the state within 45 days for external candidates and 90 days for internal candidates.

• Must reside in close proximity to the Lexington Branch office.

• Frequent manual data entry and computer usage (50–80%).

• Capability to perform occasional driving, climbing, lifting/moving objects, and handling items over 50 lbs with the help of lifting equipment.
