Claims Examiner – Liability, GL, BI & Litigation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Evaluate complex and technically challenging general, bodily injury, and litigated liability claims to ascertain applicable benefits.

• Manage high-exposure claims that involve litigation and rehabilitation processes.

• Ensure continuous adjudication of claims aligns with service expectations, industry best practices, and specific client service requirements.

• Identify subrogation opportunities and negotiate settlements effectively.

• Conduct investigations and gather relevant information to assess claim exposure.

• Process claims through action plans to achieve appropriate and timely resolutions.

• Negotiate claim settlements within established authority limits.

• Maintain communication regarding claim activity and processing with claimants and clients.

• Report claims to the excess carrier as necessary.

• Respond professionally and promptly to requests for directions.

• Travel as needed for mediations, conferences, and training sessions.

⛳️ Requirements

• A High School Diploma or GED is required.

• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.

• Professional certification relevant to the line of business is preferred.

• A minimum of 5 years of claims management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

• Knowledge of multi-state jurisdictions is essential.

• Home state licensing is required.

• NY licensing is preferred and must be obtained within 6 months of employment.

• Travel is required to support mediations, conferences, and training, which will be 10% or less.

• Ability to analyze complex or technically challenging general, bodily injury, and litigated liability claims.

• Strong clear and conceptual thinking abilities; excellent judgment, troubleshooting, problem-solving, analytical skills, and discretion.

• Capability to manage work-related stress and juggle multiple priorities simultaneously.

• Ability to meet deadlines consistently.

• Proficient computer keyboarding skills.

• Adequate hearing, vision, and verbal communication abilities.
