This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Manage property and casualty insurance claims and losses valued at up to $15,000.
• Assess insurance policies, claim documents, endorsements, carrier guidelines, and records to verify coverage.
• Perform investigations, collect official reports, consult police and hospital records, and evaluate physical damage or written estimates.
• Conduct interviews and maintain correspondence with claimants and witnesses.
• Estimate costs for repairs, replacements, or compensation.
• Compile findings reports and negotiate claim settlements in accordance with carrier guidelines.
• Issue settlement checks, submit regulatory documents, and manage salvage and subrogation when applicable.
• Suggest litigation involvement by the legal department when settlements cannot be reached.
• Attend litigation hearings and partake in depositions as needed.
• Adjust case reserves to reflect anticipated costs.
• Efficiently manage an expected caseload.
• Utilize technology and automation tools for effective claim processing.
• Forward claims exceeding a gross loss amount of $15,000 to leadership for approval.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.
• A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.
• Must achieve the IIA-AIC designation within 12 to 18 months in the position.
• A valid state adjuster license is mandatory.
• A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• Prior experience in managing property and casualty claims is advantageous but not mandatory.
• An empathetic approach to claims handling.
• Excellent communication, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in PC usage, including Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong analytical and interpretive capabilities.
• Effective negotiation skills.
• Ability to produce comprehensive, accurate, and constructive written reports.
