Claims Advisor, P&C Insurance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Establish and nurture business relationships with members and clients regarding all claims.

• Manage complex property insurance claims and medium-complexity accident benefit and bodily injury claims.

• Investigate and authorize claims.

• Create solutions, negotiate settlements, and formalize agreements with members, clients, third parties, and other stakeholders.

• Provide advice and support to clients while representing Desjardins.

• Perform investigations and inspections to evaluate damages, estimate costs and market value, and generate and review reports and documents to determine settlement amounts.

• Assess medical, financial, and employment information to establish eligibility for benefits based on statutory requirements.

• Resolve claims in accordance with the organization’s standards, policies, quality commitments, and contractual agreements.

• Adhere to deadlines to ensure client satisfaction and prevent penalties.

• Negotiate with all involved parties to facilitate efficient claims processing.

⛳️ Requirements

• A college diploma in a relevant field.

• At least four years of applicable experience.

• Alternative combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be accepted.

• Mutual fund representative certificate from the Autorité des marchés financiers.

• Advanced proficiency in French.

• Possession of a valid driver's license.

• Willingness to travel within the Gatineau area.

• Mandatory on-call availability, estimated at one to two weeks per year.
