Claims Adjuster – Commercial Auto Claims

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assess and adjudicate intricate claims, including those under litigation, ensuring adherence to all legal and regulatory standards.

• Supervise the investigation, assessment, and resolution of bodily injury claims involving company vehicles or drivers.

• Compile comprehensive file summaries for internal reporting, large loss evaluations, and reinsurance purposes, ensuring all relevant details are accurately recorded.

• Ensure all bodily injury claims are managed according to industry best practices and company protocols.

• Adjust physical damage claims, including those related to unreported damages.

• Negotiate directly with insurance company adjusters, claimants, and third-party representatives upon receiving critical information.

• Discuss accidents, damages, preventability, and processes with commercial vehicle operators.

• Maintain files for litigation, subrogation, physical damage, liability, and workers' compensation claims.

• Report claims and accidents as required.

• Be available on-call during nights and weekends for serious accidents and other necessary duties.

• Select, direct, and manage vendor relationships including towing companies, body shops, garages, and parking/storage facilities to obtain accurate cost estimates for claim settlements.

• Update and post payments for repairs.

• Order police reports, establish new claim files, and verify losses with insurers and brokers.

• Communicate effectively with the Claims team, Safety/Compliance team, and other relevant parties.

⛳️ Requirements

• Post-secondary education in an Insurance program or a related field.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in trucking, claims, or safety and compliance is preferred.

• Experience with commercial lines and transportation liability.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Excel.

• Strong multi-tasking, time management, customer service, and organizational skills.

• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

• Capacity to remain calm in crisis situations.
