This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Evaluate mid- and higher-level general auto claims to assess the extent of damages.
• Ensure continuous adjudication of claims in line with company standards and industry best practices.
• Identify subrogation opportunities for claims and engage in settlement negotiations.
• Oversee mid-level and higher-level auto claims in both commercial and personal lines by collecting information to ascertain exposure.
• Assign reserve amounts to claims, issue payments as needed, and finalize claims within designated authority limits.
• Evaluate liability and resolve claims in accordance with assessments.
• Approve and process assigned claims, ascertain benefits owed, and manage action plans in line with the claim or client contract.
• Supervise the subrogation of claims and negotiate settlements.
• Communicate actions taken on claims with claimants and clients.
• Ensure that claim files are accurately documented and that claims coding is correct.
• Maintain professional relationships with clients.
• Travel as necessary.
• Carry out other duties as assigned.
• A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.
• Professional certification relevant to the line of business is preferred.
• Secure and uphold the required State adjusting licenses for the position.
• A minimum of four (4) years of claims management experience or a comparable combination of education and experience is required.
• Expertise in relevant insurance principles and laws pertaining to the line of business managed.
• Familiarity with recoveries, offsets, deductions, claim and disability duration, and cost containment principles as they relate to the line of business.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including presentation capabilities.
• Proficiency in PC operations, including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong analytical and interpretive abilities.
