Claim Representative II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Conduct investigations and adjust claims related to property damage and low-to-mid range bodily injuries.

• Oversee independent adjusters, experts, and other service providers throughout the claims handling process.

• Collaborate with field and operations management, legal representatives, safety managers, clients, insurance carriers, and third-party claimants.

• Manage litigation in accordance with the relevant jurisdiction.

• Support the Claim Manager in identifying potential risks and recommending appropriate solutions.

• Oversee indemnity and expense management.

• Engage with primary and excess insurance carriers and reinsurers concerning files that meet reporting criteria.

• Notify the Claim Manager of any changes or proposed changes in laws impacting Ryder's liability program.

• Provide updates to field operations staff on claim status upon request.

• Supervise external vendors and experts involved in investigations.

• Recommend and establish reserves based on documented developments in the claims files.

• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A preferred Bachelor's degree and/or at least two (2) years of experience in casualty claims.

• A minimum of two (2) years of experience in handling casualty claims.

• Proven ability to manage and resolve low-to-mid range liability exposures.

• Strong technical skills related to claims.

• A solid commitment to customer service.

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats.

• Strong negotiation abilities and proficiency in dealing with insurers.

• Basic understanding of applicable laws and regulations governing liability claims in the U.S.

• Introductory knowledge of insurance coverage.

• Foundational understanding of relevant laws and regulations.

• Must be willing to obtain specific licenses as necessary.

• Certain positions may necessitate employment and education verification, a motor vehicle records check, a road test, and/or adherence to customer badging or background requirements.
