Civil/Structural Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Support single and multi-discipline heavy industrial engineering projects.

• Conduct structural inspections of existing steel structures and fireproofing in facilities.

• Develop conceptual drawings, sketches, and material take-offs for concrete and steel.

• Generate detailed design drawings for foundations, grading plans, underground piping/drainage, structural steel piperacks, and supports.

• Evaluate vendor shop and fabrication drawings.

• Collaborate with civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers and designers.

• Revise design drawings based on redline markups.

• Execute field engineering and structural inspections within the project scope.

• Assess structural drawings for errors and omissions.

• Review project contract documents to ensure quality and accuracy.

• Participate in weekly project meetings to discuss design and project advancements.

• Review and revise CAD standards as necessary.

• Guide Junior Designers and provide initial oversight.

• Perform field verification at industrial client locations as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma is mandatory.

• AS degree from a technical trade school is preferred.

• Over 5 years of civil/structural drafting and design experience involving structural steel and reinforced concrete in heavy industrial settings.

• Familiarity with industry standards.

• Proficient in AutoCAD 2D.

• Proficient in AutoCAD Plant 3D.

• Proficient in Revit 3D Modeling of structures.

• Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D.

• Proficient in CadWorx.

• Experience with Advance Steel Software is desirable.

• Familiarity with the latest version of Navisworks is a bonus.

• Experience in Steel Detailing is advantageous.

• Must possess an active TWIC Card or the ability to obtain one immediately after being hired.

• Must be able to pass a post-offer drug screening, including marijuana, and alcohol tests in compliance with Federal regulations.

• Subject to random testing as a condition of ongoing employment.

• Capability to work within heavy industrial facilities.

• Ability to walk one to two miles in industrial environments.

• Capacity to work in elevated conditions.

• Proficient in field surveying, taking measurements, referencing benchmarks, and creating detailed field notes and sketches.

• Self-motivated individual who can work independently with minimal supervision.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong understanding and aptitude for current computer software, CAD systems, Microsoft Office products, and design software.
