This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Create automation and SCADA systems for mechanical and electrical infrastructures within complex data center and mission-critical projects.
• Collaborate with mechanical design teams to formulate control sequences, diagrams, and points lists.
• Work alongside electrical design teams to establish network architectures and points lists pertinent to electrical distribution and conditioning systems.
• Partner with ICT design teams regarding structured Ethernet cabling interfaces.
• Design robust OT networks utilizing Ethernet and serial technologies, incorporating wireless, fiber, and copper mediums.
• Develop foundational designs for BAS, PLC, and PMS controllers, instrumentation, and software, including datasheets.
• Tailor controls, instrumentation, cybersecurity, and power-monitoring technical specifications to meet project needs.
• Implement contemporary BAS, EPMS, and PLC protocols and networking requirements.
• Ensure adherence to US codes and engineering standards.
• Utilize templated models for system implementation and document alterations from client models.
• Collaborate with various disciplines to ensure integrated designs.
• Engage in project meetings and calls during flexible hours.
• Oversee project schedules and ensure adherence to budget constraints.
• Occasionally travel for client meetings, project milestones, onsite collaboration, or other essential business activities.
• Work in conjunction with global AECOM teams on prestigious data center projects for international clients.
• Bachelor's Degree with over 6 years of relevant experience or a proven equivalent of experience and/or education.
• Minimum of four years' experience as an Instrumentation and Control Engineer (I&C) or as a controls contractor responsible for creating controls submittals.
• Proficient with BAS and PLC control system platforms.
• Experience with Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (PMS/EPMS).
• Bachelor's Degree in Technology, Electrical, Mechanical, or a related field (preferred).
• Demonstrated experience with colocation and hyperscale data center projects (preferred).
• Familiarity with US codes and standards.
• Experience in data center or other mission-critical environments.
• Knowledge of Operational Technology Networks.
• Experience with SCADA platforms and specifying technical cybersecurity requirements.
• Understanding of BAS, EPMS, and PLC protocols, including Modbus, BACnet, and EtherNet/IP.
• Ability to ensure compliance with applicable US codes and engineering standards/practices.
• Flexibility to work hours that accommodate project meetings and calls.
• Capability to manage schedules and meet budgetary expectations.
• Proficient in multitasking, adapting to project deadlines, and thriving in a collaborative team atmosphere.
