Civil Litigation Attorney – Experienced

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Oversee an active civil litigation caseload, focusing on real estate and business litigation issues.

• Engage with opposing parties and prepare and dispatch demand letters.

• Negotiate settlements and manage pre-suit communications and resolution strategies.

• Guide cases from intake strategy through settlement, mediation/arbitration, or trial.

• Formulate case-specific legal strategies in line with client objectives, risk tolerance, and financial considerations.

• Maintain proactive case timelines, manage deadlines, and ensure progress is made.

• Draft and present both dispositive and non-dispositive motions and oversee hearings.

• Lead written discovery strategies, meet-and-confers, motions to compel/protective orders, and evidentiary positioning.

• Conduct and defend depositions while preparing witnesses.

• Attend court sessions, primarily remotely, for contested and uncontested matters, motion hearings, and trials.

• Organize evidence, witnesses, exhibits, outlines, and trial narratives.

• Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients, set expectations, and build trust.

• Provide practical recommendations, options, and next steps.

• Enhance templates, workflows, and internal processes.

• Utilize advanced legal technology and automation tools to boost efficiency, accuracy, and consistency.

• Complete training and shadowing with the Division Lead before independently managing files from start to finish.

• Propose ideas for workflow and template enhancements that save time or improve quality.

• Contribute to the growth and development of the division, expand the practice, enhance the firm's reputation, and attract, develop, and retain skilled team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• Active Florida Bar license in good standing.

• Experience with trial and motions practice is essential, including participation in jury or bench trials and confidence in courtroom appearances.

• Capacity to manage disputes through settlement, mediation, arbitration, or trial.

• Ability to handle a fast-paced caseload effectively.

• Professional judgment and responsiveness are crucial.

• Strong client-facing communication skills in a remote setting.

• Resourcefulness in problem-solving, finding solutions, and advancing cases.

• Curiosity and an ability to identify leverage points and learn swiftly.

• Boldness and initiative in addressing challenging conversations and intricate matters.

• High levels of accountability for deadlines, client trust, and outcomes.

• Must currently reside in Florida.
