Cisco Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create and implement a consistent Cisco Secure Workload deployment strategy through a controlled pilot and a phased rollout aligned with applications.

• Evaluate the current Secure Workload deployment within a varied enterprise setting and suggest actionable steps for wider adoption.

• Analyze application components, dependencies, and traffic patterns to enhance workload visibility and inform segmentation decisions.

• Strategize and execute agent deployment across supported enterprise systems while exploring alternative visibility methods where agents may not be suitable.

• Formulate segmentation policies and confirm application communications prior to advancing through staged enforcement.

• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, identity, network, and application stakeholders throughout the planning and implementation phases.

• Develop implementation documentation, operational procedures, and a systematic onboarding process for future applications.

• Collaborate closely with customer team members, prioritizing hands-on coaching and sustainable knowledge transfer.

• Assist in an initial pilot involving approximately 250 licenses/servers within a larger environment of about 3,000 servers.

• Possibly lead or assist in the wider implementation in the subsequent year.

⛳️ Requirements

• Senior-level practical experience with Cisco Secure Workload or a similar workload visibility and microsegmentation platform.

• Proven experience in planning application-based segmentation and mapping application dependencies and traffic patterns.

• Experience in deploying workload agents across Windows and Linux enterprise environments.

• Knowledge of enterprise networking, identity services, shared services, security policies, and application communication flows.

• Experience in developing, validating, and operationalizing segmentation policies in intricate environments.

• Capability to produce clear technical documentation and create repeatable implementation and operating procedures.

• Strong skills in customer-facing communication, facilitation, collaboration, and effective knowledge transfer.

• Availability during regular business hours in the EST time zone, from 8 am to 5 pm.
