Chuukese VRI/OPI Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Professionally respond to calls, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be prepared to take notes during calls.

• Familiarize yourself with specific vocabulary relevant to the healthcare and medical industries.

• Accurately and completely convey all messages, without adding, omitting, or substituting information.

• Deliver the highest standard of customer service throughout the interpreting process.

• Facilitate effective communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients by providing precise interpretation of messages.

• Implement established standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training.

• Show enthusiasm for obtaining new professional certifications.

• Maintain communication and report to your team leader.

• Adhere to dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language "Chuukese."

• A minimum of 1 year of telephone interpretation experience with a reputable interpretation company is advantageous, though not required.

• Familiarity with medical terminology is beneficial, but not obligatory.

• Understanding of legal terminology is a plus.

• Possession of international certifications in the healthcare sector is an advantage (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• Strong emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention abilities.
