Chinese to Thai/Malay/Indonesian Automotive Translator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hong Kong.

📋 Description

• Enhance the quality of machine translation output through MTPE, ensuring accuracy, fluency, consistency, and adherence to terminology/style guidelines.

• Conduct proofreading and final quality assurance checks, focusing on language, terminology, formatting, numerical values/units, and readiness for delivery.

• Utilize CAT tools and adhere to established project QA workflows.

• Translate and review automotive and technical content, including product and feature information, technical documents, excerpts from manuals, after-sales/service information, and training materials.

• Provide support for long-term freelance engagements and respond to urgent requests when necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Preference for native-level proficiency in Thai, Indonesian, or Malay.

• Previous experience in technical localization is essential.

• Experience in automotive localization is advantageous.

• Excellent communication skills are required.

• Must demonstrate reliable turnaround times.

• Capability to assist with urgent requests as needed.

• A linguistic test is mandatory (TR / MTPE / PR).

• Candidates should specify their language pairs and services offered (MTPE and/or Proofreading).

• A CV and relevant experience are preferred, especially with automotive or technical expertise.

• Information about CAT tools utilized and availability/time zone should be included.

• Familiarity with CAT tools such as Trados, memoQ, or Smartcat is required.

• Applicants should indicate whether they are native Chinese speakers or native speakers of Thai, Malay, or Indonesian in the application questions.
