Chief Technology Officer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky.

📋 Description

• Formulate and implement a technology strategy that aligns with Strategic’s business objectives, prioritizing both internal and external customer experiences.

• Supervise the organization’s hardware, software, data, networks, and the development and delivery of client technology solutions.

• Provide daily management oversight of technical personnel, encompassing recruitment, training, professional growth, and operational activities.

• Ensure that all processes adhere to regulatory standards.

• Manage the technology budget while coordinating with internal stakeholders and external partners.

• Conduct research and offer recommendations for new systems and technologies.

• Guide strategic business choices and establish long-term strategies, technology vision, and architecture roadmap.

• Promote the adoption of new technologies and oversee the implementation of technology solutions.

• Collaborate with executive leadership to ensure technology aligns with business objectives.

• Safeguard software and infrastructure security and enforce best practices for data protection.

• Partner with the IT/Security lead to ensure that the corporate network complies with CMMC and NIST SP 800-171.

• Transition legacy federal systems to secure cloud infrastructures, such as AWS GovCloud or Microsoft Azure Government.

• Incorporate artificial intelligence, machine learning, and big data into compliant solutions.

• Convert intricate technical language into clear mission outcomes for engineering teams, non-technical stakeholders, and agency leadership.

• Develop operational and service delivery playbooks and frameworks for Strategic’s market entry solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline is required.

• Over 10 years of relevant experience, with a minimum of 5 years in an executive, senior leadership, or managerial role.

• Previous experience in creating operational playbooks for solution teams.

• Profound understanding of systems architecture, cloud infrastructure, artificial intelligence tools such as virtual assistants, coding tools, image generation software, cybersecurity governance, policies, frameworks, and risk management.

• Experience managing 15 or more direct reports and over 20 team members indirectly.

• Ten years of experience in planning, designing, managing, and deploying solutions that include technological vision, assessment of existing infrastructure, optimization of workflows, integration of new tools, and replacement of outdated tools for data export and workflow adoption, along with governance and risk assessments for enterprise or public sector entities.

• Willingness to travel, estimated at 25 to 50%.

• Availability to support after-hours escalations and project demands as required.

• Familiarity with public sector entities, state and local government, education (SLED), and federal acquisition regulations (FARs).

• Practical experience architecting systems that comply with FedRAMP, NIST SP 800-171, and CMMC.

• AWS Professional level certification is preferred.

• Google Cloud Professional level certification is preferred.

• CISSP or CISM certification is preferred.

• PMP or CGEIT certification is preferred.

• Preference for US Citizens with the capability to obtain security clearance as needed.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
