Chief Security Officer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Establish trusted-advisor relationships with customer CISOs, CIOs, and other IT executives throughout Central Eastern Europe.

• Communicate the value of Palo Alto Networks and influence the development of customers' cybersecurity capabilities.

• Assist customers in defining strategic pathways toward cyber resilience by utilizing industry standards, frameworks, and best practices.

• Deliver executive-level messaging regarding security trends, customer challenges, and cybersecurity best practices.

• Integrate the value of Palo Alto Networks platformization into customers' cybersecurity transformation initiatives.

• Articulate high-level technical differentiation across Network Security, SASE, AI Security, Cloud, and SOC transformation.

• Present thought-leadership content at conferences and company-sponsored events.

• Manage customer executive advisory board activities within the designated geography.

• Engage in industry associations, communities, governmental groups, and standards initiatives.

• Utilize social media, public relations, blogs, white papers, and press interviews to shape market perception.

• Aid organizations in comprehending cyber-risk landscapes and developing target architectures for long-term cybersecurity strategies.

• Serve as a trusted advisor to strategic customers and facilitate platform adoption.

• Participate in account-team opportunities, foster peer relationships, conduct opportunity reviews, strategize, and engage with customers through deal closure.

• Leverage company resources to shorten the time required to close significant opportunities.

• Generate content for field teams to enhance awareness, sales strategies, and skills.

• Conduct targeted Platform or Industry CxO roundtables.

• Offer long-term local-market insights to Product Management, Marketing, Global Policy, and other internal teams.

• Advise on local government relations, cybersecurity certifications, and operational partnerships in collaboration with Global Policy and Unit 42 Threat Research.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience as a CSO/CISO within a large corporate enterprise.

• Customer-facing experience in a vendor or consulting capacity.

• Recognized as a cybersecurity authority in the Central Eastern European region.

• Visionary perspective on the future of cybersecurity and the capability to develop strategic roadmaps.

• Proficient in translating complex technical content for C-level executives.

• Technical credibility across pertinent cybersecurity technologies.

• Ability to engage effectively with large audiences, small groups, and in one-on-one meetings.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English and at least one additional regional language; proficiency in Romanian, Czech, or Polish is highly preferred.

• Innovative mindset and robust problem-solving abilities.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Security, Computer Science, Information Management Systems, or a related field, or equivalent military experience; a master’s degree is preferred.

• A minimum of 10+ years of experience in risk management, information security, and IT roles, including at least four years in a senior leadership position.

• Demonstrated progression of responsibility in professional history.

• Industry expertise evidenced through contributions to security groups, speaking engagements at industry events, blogs, or white papers on advanced cybersecurity techniques and tools.
