This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Implement and oversee security measures for systems and applications.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and monitor the remediation of identified issues.
• Assist in Assessment and Authorization (A&A) processes under the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF).
• Create and revise security documentation, including System Security Plans and POA&Ms.
• Analyze audit logs and react to security incidents.
• Provide guidance to development and operations teams on secure configurations and best practices.
• Facilitate security awareness initiatives and compliance reporting.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
• A Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is required.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in information security.
• Familiarity with NIST SP 800-53, FISMA, and the Risk Management Framework.
• Experience with vulnerability scanning tools such as Tenable Nessus or Qualys.
• Possession of a security certification like CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CISM.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Capability to work independently in a remote setting.
• Regular use of standard office equipment, including computers, phones, scanners, and printers.
• Experience with SIEM tools, such as Splunk, is preferred.
• Knowledge of cloud security on AWS or Azure is preferred.
• Experience in supporting federal government contracts is preferred.
