Chief Architect, Managed Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the executive technical lead on MGT's most significant, intricate, and strategic initiatives from the initial client meeting to final closure.

• Conduct customer presentations, executive briefings, and equipment demonstrations either on-site or virtually.

• Provide architect-level oversight for complex opportunities, ensuring the feasibility of design, integration, and delivery.

• Manage high-risk and critical deals, addressing technical objections and driving pursuits to successful closure.

• Assist the deals desk with discounting, pricing, and margin escalations.

• Ensure continuity in technical aspects during project startup and facilitate a smooth transition to delivery.

• Revise solution-group offerings based on market demand, OEM roadmaps, and delivery capabilities.

• Oversee pricing and packaging for the practice, segmented by vertical, geography, and customer size.

• Define and articulate the practice's roadmap and technical vision.

• Manage strategic relationships with OEMs, vendors, and subcontractors.

• Develop and deliver presales enablement, solution models, demo standards, and reference architectures.

• Provide regional sales support and act as the escalation point for both technical and commercial inquiries.

• Manage procurement vehicles and promote field adoption.

• Integrate AI into scoping, design, estimating, and proposal-generation workflows.

• Monitor service delivery capabilities and identify gaps in skills, staffing, or tools.

• Oversee OEM certification tracking and maintain partner requirements along with customer-facing credentials.

• Provide monthly performance updates that include wins, sales performance, adoption metrics, and collaboration in customer success.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

• A minimum of ten (10) years of hands-on experience in the relevant technology field.

• At least five (5) years of experience in presales engineering, solution architecture, or a related role.

• Familiarity with service delivery frameworks, including ITIL v4 and tiered service catalog design.

• Experience with ITSM platforms like ServiceNow, ConnectWise, Autotask, or Jira Service Management.

• Knowledge of network and endpoint monitoring and remote management platforms such as Auvik, ManageEngine, or ConnectWise.

• Understanding of SIEM/SOC integration, alert threshold and escalation design, as well as patch/remediation tooling.

• Insight into MSP business cases, TCO/ROI, CapEx-to-OpEx translation, cost avoidance, and competitive differentiation.

• Familiarity with recurring-revenue economics, gross margin modeling, attach rates, and contract structures.

• Experience with customer-facing reporting, QBR metrics, Power BI, native ITSM reporting, and RCA documentation.

• Capability to translate a prospect's environment into a tailored proposal and a 30-60-90 day transition plan.

• Working knowledge of security, collaboration, cloud/datacenter, and physical security practice areas.

• Proven success in leading technical strategy for large, complex opportunities.

• Ability to design and price large-scale solutions, including budgetary and detailed cost estimates.

• Experience in defining offerings, pricing, or packaging for a technology practice or portfolio.

• Background in managing OEM/vendor relationships and subcontractor resources.

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

• Skill in translating customer requirements into a bill of materials and system design.

• Proficiency in presenting to executive and C-level audiences regarding technical and financial merits.
