Chief Accounting Officer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Organize, coordinate, and carry out the yearly internal audit process.

• Recognize risk areas and implement controls to alleviate them.

• Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and company policies.

• Work collaboratively with the CFO and other senior executives to formulate financial strategies.

• Direct and manage the accounting team, offering guidance, training, and development opportunities.

• Supervise the preparation and analysis of financial statements in compliance with GAAP.

• Ensure the timely and precise monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.

• Review and authorize journal entries, reconciliations, and other accounting activities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA or CMA is preferred.

• At least 10 years of accounting experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership capacity.

• Comprehensive understanding of GAAP and internal audit procedures.

• Outstanding analytical, organizational, and communication abilities.

• Proficient in accounting software and the Microsoft Office Suite; experience with NetSuite is an advantage.
