This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Act as a messenger conveying faith, mission, and purpose.
• Engage with companies, employees, and the community, demonstrating character through personal and spiritual practices.
• Conduct regular visits, typically weekly, to company worksites to foster trust and friendship among employees, inspired by Christian faith.
• Visit employees or their immediate family members in settings such as hospitals, nursing homes, funeral homes, residences, or other locations where care can be provided and support offered.
• Offer confidential pastoral discussions regarding family matters, divorce, serious illness, elder care, grief recovery, parenting, financial issues, and other personal concerns.
• Provide referrals and coordinate specialized assistance for employees and their immediate family members.
• Assist with the planning, conducting, or attending of funerals and provide subsequent grief support.
• Make jail visits to employees and their immediate family members when necessary.
• Deliver notifications of death and serious injuries to families and employees, while encouraging those affected by tragedies.
• Provide post-termination support for laid-off or terminated employees.
• Facilitate spiritual enrichment activities when appropriate, without leading them.
• Supply literature and resources addressing employees’ life challenges.
• Represent companies to clients/customers when ministry services are relevant.
• Participate in new employee orientations to explain the Employee Care Service and Chaplain Team.
• Execute additional duties and services as requested by company executive leadership, with EDO permission and in accordance with the Letter of Agreement.
• Capability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team and in an interfaith environment.

• Basic understanding of the Holy Bible and its appropriate application.

• Professional diplomacy, patience, and courtesy when working with diverse groups.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Capability to make administrative and procedural decisions on sensitive, confidential matters.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Emotional resilience to manage human suffering, emergencies, and other stresses.
• Skill in analyzing information, defining, and following up on problems or objectives.
• Ability to identify solutions and resolve issues effectively.
• Proficiency in interpreting relevant policies and procedures and keeping others informed.
• Computer proficiency with Google Suites, Microsoft Office, internet, email, and web-based software applications.
• Willingness to learn new technology programs.
• Valid state driver’s license and compliance with state minimum auto insurance requirements when servicing clients.
• Must pass a pre-employment background check.
• Part-time assigned hours, generally consistent week to week.
• Remote position in the field.
• Assignment of 3–4 hours per month.
