Certified Residential Appraiser

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Performs an objective and impartial assessment of residential real estate by evaluating market and property-specific information.

• Prepares appraisal reports adhering to USPAP, governmental, corporate, regulatory board, and client-specific standards.

• Inspects various types of residential properties and documents on-site data collection/inspection through photographs, measurements, sketches, diagrams, and field notes.

• Takes into account all elements that may impact property value, including legal characteristics, optimal use, market conditions, locational aspects, site, view, design, quality, age, condition, size, and physical features.

• Must demonstrate proficiency in sales comparison, cost, and income approaches to valuation.

• Must be adept with local MLS and regional real estate data sources.

• Must be knowledgeable about major form types (1004, 2055, 1073, 1075, 1025, Review Forms, etc.).

• Collaborates with Senior Appraisers/Appraisal Helpdesk to ensure quality at the assignment level.

• Engages in monthly Appraiser meetings.

• Adheres to all departmental turnaround time expectations and proactively escalates issues if deadlines cannot be met.

• Capability to operate within diverse client-driven requirements and timelines.

• Outstanding analytical and narrative writing abilities.

• Proficient in analyzing data, drawing logical conclusions, and summarizing findings for varied audiences.

• Detail-oriented and self-motivated.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and precise environment.

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Effective organizational skills with capacity to multitask, prioritize, and follow up.

• Preferred experience in REO appraisals.

• HUD/FHA experience is preferred.

• Active Appraiser Certification as mandated by the state’s regulatory authority.

• Appraiser should have no disciplinary actions within the past +/-10 years.

• Valid Driver’s License.
