Certified Nursing Assistant, Long Term Care, Float

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.

📋 Description

• Act as a caregiver for residents during assigned work hours in long-term care settings.

• Offer resident-focused nursing care and assistance with daily living activities under the supervision of a registered nurse.

• Provide age-appropriate care in accordance with the established care plan.

• Adhere to infection prevention and control protocols and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment.

• Support residents with bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, monitoring vital signs, providing psychosocial support, and personal care tasks.

• Help residents with transferring, repositioning, walking, range-of-motion exercises, and passive exercises.

• Manage food preparation and dining responsibilities.

• Assist residents during meals and snacks, offering water and dietary supplements.

• Support healthcare providers and nursing staff with necessary procedures.

• Record resident interactions and outcomes regarding care, behavior, activities, and dietary requirements.

• Communicate any changes in conditions and care issues to the charge nurse.

• Collect non-invasive body fluid specimens and monitor vital signs.

• Provide housekeeping and laundry services.

• Assist with and document wellness and recreational activities.

• Motivate residents to engage in programs.

• Participate in departmental or organizational committees and task forces as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 months of experience in Long Term Care is required (6 months preferred).

• Must be at least 18 years of age.

• Required to have Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or become a state-certified CNA within four months of starting the position by enrolling in a training program or obtaining certification through endorsement.

• CNA training and certification are mandatory and will be provided by the facility.

• Must satisfactorily complete yearly department-specific competency assessments.

• A minimum of 12 hours of continuing education is required annually.

• Must maintain all required department-specific certifications.

• When applicable, must be certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry.

• Depending on the facility, a Qualified Medication Administration Person (QMAP) certification with the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment is required.

• May require a motor vehicle report and proof of a valid driver's license as a Sanford Category II Driver.

• Must be medically qualified to perform essential driving tasks if applicable.

• Minimum requirement of 30 hours of work per month.

• One weekend shift per month is required.

• Travel may be necessary to support multiple locations within a 75-mile radius of the permanent address.

• High school diploma or GED is preferred, but not mandatory.

• Previous clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care is preferred.

• Evening/night shift differential of $1.25/hour (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM).
