📋 Description

• Organize and prioritize assigned tasks to ensure completion within the designated timeframe.

• Review medical charts and complete medical records, assigning appropriate ICD and CPT code combinations to each data point.

• Conduct audits for documentation opportunities and engage with clinical staff to clarify any confusing, incomplete, or conflicting details, while acquiring additional documentation.

• Communicate and collaborate with physicians to clarify specifics and guarantee accurate coding.

• Employ ICD-10-CM and CPT classification systems for assigning diagnostic, procedural, and complication codes to claims, adhering to payer billing requirements.

• Adhere to established coding standards, conventions, regulations, corporate compliance standards, and reimbursement policies.

• Participate in coding training specific to specialties.

• Foster positive relationships with healthcare providers.

• Collaborate closely with the VP/Medical Director of RMG.

• Assist patient financial services with inquiries regarding coding and billing edits.

• Provide mentorship and assist in the training of other coding professionals.

• Engage in the development of coding policies and procedures.

• Coordinate and mentor assigned coding staff through regular audits to ensure both quality and productivity of work.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED is required (Minimum).

• A minimum of 1 year of ICD-10 coding experience in a medical practice is preferred.

• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification from AAPC is mandatory upon hire, or Certified Outpatient Coder (COC) certification from AAPC is also required upon hire.

• Provide AAPC certification number on your application or resume.

• Must reside in one of the following states: FL, GA, ID, KS, KY, MS, NC, OK, SC, SD, TN, or VA.

• Maintain coding accuracy of 90% or higher.

• Meet productivity standards established by a nationally recognized organization and specialty-specific benchmarks.
