Catastrophe Field Adjuster

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Manage the adjustment of the complete claim independently, without the need for a Desk Adjuster.

• Gather and assess loss-related information while analyzing insurance policy provisions to make decisions on coverage.

• Issue claim payments within the designated authority and provide payment recommendations for amounts exceeding that authority.

• Reach out to insured parties to arrange property inspections.

• Travel to impacted properties and perform timely inspections.

• Document damages through photographs, sketches, and scope assessments, including areas without damage.

• Draft claims correspondence and keep insured parties updated throughout the investigation process.

• Establish the method and scope of investigation for each claim.

• Engage external experts or investigators when necessary.

• Examine and evaluate investigative and claim-related documents.

• Conduct interviews with insured parties and witnesses, documenting investigative efforts in claim files.

• Ascertain total claim amounts and request or issue claim checks/payments.

• Provide timely responses to inquiries.

• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to address claims-related challenges.

• Support catastrophe operations, including working extended hours during significant events or deploying to affected regions.

• Communicate with Desk Adjusters regarding issues and necessary expertise.

• Submit reserve recommendations within 48 hours of inspection when assisting a Desk Adjuster.

• Send reports/estimates to the home office via email.

• Assist Desk Adjusters with pricing and technical matters.

• Perform additional responsibilities as the candidate's role evolves.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree is preferred, along with previous insurance experience with an insurance carrier or agency.

• Must be able to carry, set up, and safely ascend a ladder rated Type IA (Extra Heavy Capacity, 300 LB/136 KG), weighing 50 pounds or more.

• Must be capable of safely climbing a ladder for roof inspections.

• Required to access and examine all areas of a residence or structure, including roofs and tight spaces (attics, crawl spaces, etc.).

• Ability to work extra hours during major catastrophe events or deploy to affected areas as needed.

• Proficient in using various software programs throughout the workday.

• Ability to adhere to quality standards and state regulations.
