This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.
• Develop catalog records at the PCC BIBCO level for English-language materials spanning all subject areas, excluding Law and Music.
• Classify materials utilizing the Library of Congress Classification system.
• Assign subject headings in accordance with Library of Congress Subject Headings.
• Create and maintain name authority records that conform to NACO standards.
• Propose new Library of Congress Subject Headings and/or classification numbers.
• Monitor progress and adhere to deadlines while delivering high-quality cataloging for a significant federal library initiative.
• MLS or MLIS degree from an ALA-accredited program.
• Minimum of 2 years of original cataloging experience in an academic or research library setting.
• In-depth knowledge of LCSH, LCC, MARC21, and other cataloging standards applicable to monographic materials.
• Proven experience in BIBCO- and NACO-level cataloging.
• Comprehensive understanding and experience with cataloging workflows.
• Familiarity with Classification Web, Cataloger’s Desktop, and the LC Authorities list.
• Strong communication and analytical abilities.
• Excellent proficiency in reading and writing in English.
• Acute attention to detail.
• Capability to manage work and meet deadlines effectively.
• Must be eligible to obtain a federal security clearance.
• Preferred: experience with Voyager or Folio library platforms.
