This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Louisiana, +3 more states.
• Facilitate both individual and group career planning curricula to enhance student development.
• Evaluate student data and create data-informed retention programs for pathways.
• Offer a personalized planning system that directs students towards post-secondary education, workforce opportunities, professional skills, and career aspirations.
• Assist in bolstering the efforts of teachers, counselors, and parents.
• Support standardized testing, industry certification exams, parent education, and professional development for staff.
• Partner with Academic Counselors on training related to Career Learning.
• Supply CTE Pathway and Program resources to Academic Counselors.
• Aid students in selecting appropriate pathways.
• Provide responsive services for individuals or groups concerning pathway and CTE course selection.
• Develop and maintain a virtual “Go Center” within the K12 Zone for pathway exploration, selection, and career readiness resources.
• Travel to support students, attend meetings, and engage in school events, open houses, and orientations.
• Carry out other related responsibilities as assigned.
• Valid state School Guidance Counselor certification.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field AND experience in advising, teaching, or serving as a school career counselor, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Capability to work independently, typically exceeding 40 hours per week.
• Ability to maintain a distraction-free professional home office during work hours.
• Experience in a virtual or hybrid educational setting.
• Familiarity with Texas CTE Programs, Pathways, and Career Clusters.
• Background in college and career advising and/or educational policy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to pass required background and/or fingerprinting checks.
• Experience in coordinating career-focused clubs and extracurricular activities.
• Willingness to travel at least once a month within and between designated geographical areas.
• Ability to travel approximately 10% of the time.
• Experience in a customer service setting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and web-based applications.
