This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Conduct structured intake sessions with new patients to gather information pertinent to the bio-psycho-social evaluation process.
• Collect and document demographic details, presenting issues, psychosocial history, family and social background, educational and occupational details, previous behavioral health treatment, current medications, and general health history.
• Accurately record the information obtained in the electronic medical record (EMR) to assist licensed providers in completing clinical evaluations.
• Collaborate with licensed clinicians to facilitate the intake and evaluation process.
• Ensure that relevant patient history and intake details are accessible for provider review.
• Relay important information gathered during intake to the appropriate clinical staff.
• Schedule and coordinate initial evaluation appointments with the relevant providers.
• Confirm that all necessary intake forms, questionnaires, and consent documents are completed prior to evaluation appointments.
• Verify patient demographic and insurance information.
• Upload, organize, and maintain patient documentation within the EMR system.
• Ensure timely completion of intake records.
• Provide a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for patients entering care.
• Address basic inquiries regarding services, scheduling, and intake procedures.
• Escalate urgent concerns or clinical issues to licensed providers or clinical leadership.
• Comply with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality while adhering to organizational policies.
• A Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in psychology, social work, human services, healthcare administration, public health, or a related field.
• This is an entry-level position; prior experience in healthcare, behavioral health, social services, or customer service is preferred.
• Experience with patient intake, scheduling, or care coordination is advantageous.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities are essential.
• Capacity to build rapport with patients from various backgrounds.
• Excellent active listening and interviewing skills.
• Ability to gather sensitive information in a professional and empathetic manner.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation is crucial.
• Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to learn electronic medical record systems are necessary.
• Ability to uphold patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
