Cantonese VRI/OPI Interpretation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Professionally respond to calls, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be ready to take notes during calls.

• Have a solid understanding of industry-specific vocabulary, particularly in healthcare and medical contexts.

• Accurately and completely convey all messages, ensuring no additions, omissions, or substitutions.

• Deliver top-notch customer service throughout the interpretation process.

• Facilitate effective communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients by providing precise and complete interpretations.

• Uphold established standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training sessions.

• Show enthusiasm for obtaining new professional certifications.

• Maintain open communication and report to your team leader.

• Adhere to dress code regulations for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language "Cantonese".

• At least 1 year of experience in over-the-telephone interpretation at a reputable interpretation company.

• Strong knowledge of medical terminology.

• Familiarity with legal terminology is advantageous.

• Possession of international certifications in the healthcare field is a plus (such as PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• Strong emotional intelligence and an appreciation for diverse cultures.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention abilities.
