This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership and maintain Revamp's CAD standards, which encompass layers, blocks, title blocks, plot styles, and templates, for AutoCAD and Civil 3D in PV, BESS, and substation deliverables.
• Create and sustain the firm's CAD content library, including standard details, symbols, sheet set templates, and dynamic blocks.
• Lead the implementation of CAD, manage version rollouts, configure profiles and workspaces, and provide setup support.
• Define and document drafting workflows and production processes across various disciplines and offices.
• Act as the primary resource for the firm's CAD standards, ensuring drafting quality and offering daily tool support.
• Maintain and enhance AutoLISP routines, scripts, and CAD utilities while identifying opportunities for automation.
• Collaborate with the Integration & Process Automation team to specify, test, and implement custom CAD tools, including AutoCAD .NET plugins.
• Assess third-party CAD tools and content libraries.
• Develop and uphold QA/QC procedures, checklists, and drawing templates.
• Audit drawings and models for compliance with standards and address any discrepancies.
• Approve modifications to firmwide standards and templates, communicating the impacts on ongoing projects.
• Mentor, advise, and train engineers and designers on CAD standards and custom tools.
• Foster a shared practice of automation and scripting across distributed teams.
• Coordinate with discipline leads regarding CAD standards, drafting priorities, and any changes to tools.
• Collaborate on the CAD automation roadmap and manage automation-request intake.
• Present CAD and automation capabilities during client and partner technical discussions when needed.
• Maintain documentation for standards, user guides, release notes, the CAD standards library, and tool repository.
• Monitor standards adoption, audit outcomes, and drafting time efficiencies; report findings to engineering leadership.
• Meet deliverables and deadlines while undertaking additional related responsibilities as required.
• A Bachelor's degree in engineering, drafting and design technology, computer science, or a related field, along with 7 years of CAD or design experience in an AEC or renewable energy setting.
• Ten years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of the degree.
• Proven experience in owning CAD standards, templates, and content libraries across multi-discipline teams.
• Advanced skills in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, including configuration of templates, blocks, layers, and plot styles.
• Experience in leading CAD implementation, version rollouts, workflow documentation, and end-user training.
• Supervisory or team lead experience with CAD or drafting personnel.
• Familiarity with QA/QC practices for engineering drawing sets, including audits, checklists, and markup resolution.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly in documenting standards and training non-specialists.
• Ability to manage multiple standards, support, and project priorities within a distributed team environment.
• Experience in writing or maintaining AutoCAD customizations using AutoLISP/Visual LISP, or developing with the AutoCAD .NET API (C#).
• Proficient in using Git for version control of internally developed tools or scripts.
• Understanding of utility-scale solar PV, BESS, or substation design workflows and deliverables.
• Familiarity with automation and GIS tools such as Dynamo, Python, QGIS, or similar.
• Experience in deploying internally developed CAD tools to a distributed workforce.
• Experience working in a remote-first engineering organization.
