This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee designated procurement needs from the initial receipt to the award, management, and finalization of purchase orders.
• Collaborate with program teams and internal stakeholders to comprehend purchasing requirements, priorities, and delivery expectations.
• Create and issue Requests for Quote along with other supplier solicitations.
• Identify and engage qualified suppliers while seeking competitive sourcing opportunities.
• Assess supplier quotations and proposals based on price, delivery, terms and conditions, and other business factors.
• Perform price analysis and document fair and reasonable price determinations.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery timelines, terms and conditions, and other commercial factors.
• Prepare, issue, and manage purchase orders and modifications within the scope of delegated authority.
• Monitor supplier performance and delivery commitments, addressing issues that could impact program schedules.
• Cultivate productive supplier relationships and act as a procurement partner to internal clients.
• Communicate procurement status, risks, and recommended solutions to relevant stakeholders.
• Identify procurement and supplier risks and work collaboratively on viable solutions.
• Maintain comprehensive, accurate, and audit-ready procurement files and documentation.
• Ensure purchasing activities adhere to Leidos policies, contractual obligations, and government procurement regulations.
• Manage various purchasing activities and priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
• Independently resolve moderately complex purchasing challenges using sound business judgment.
• Work alongside procurement professionals and cross-functional teams to achieve objectives.
• Identify avenues for enhancing procurement processes, supplier performance, costs, and customer experience.
• Bachelor’s degree with 2–4 years of relevant experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, contracts, or a similar field; or a Master’s degree with less than 2 years of relevant experience.
• Practical knowledge of purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or supplier management principles and practices.
• Experience in soliciting, evaluating, and/or negotiating supplier quotations or proposals.
• Ability to analyze supplier pricing and other pertinent information to support informed purchasing decisions.
• Capability to manage multiple assignments and competing priorities while adhering to established deadlines.
• Proven ability to work independently on moderately complex tasks and apply sound business judgment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage with suppliers, program personnel, management, and cross-functional teams.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to evaluate procurement issues, identify potential risks, and formulate practical solutions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
• Willingness to learn and effectively utilize procurement, purchasing, and enterprise resource planning systems.
• Capability to meet any U.S. Person requirements relevant to the position or programs supported.
• Preferred: experience in purchasing direct materials, equipment, components, or indirect goods and services.
• Preferred: procurement or supply chain experience in government contracting, aerospace, defense, technology, or another regulated industry.
• Preferred: knowledge of FAR and DFARS regulations.
• Preferred: experience in a CPSR-compliant procurement environment.
• Preferred: experience in conducting price analysis and documenting fair and reasonable pricing.
• Preferred: experience managing competitive and sole/single-source procurement actions.
• Preferred: experience in negotiating supplier pricing, delivery timelines, and commercial terms and conditions.
• Preferred: familiarity with government contractor procurement documentation and audit requirements.
• Preferred: experience supporting multiple programs, projects, or internal clients simultaneously.
• Preferred: experience in managing supplier performance and resolving delivery, quality, pricing, or contractual issues.
• Preferred: experience with enterprise procurement or ERP systems.
• Preferred: strong Microsoft Excel and analytical skills, including procurement, supplier, or spend data analysis.
