This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Negotiate and secure optimal pricing for both new and recurring items within specified contracts, working independently.
• Conduct technical evaluations of parts and drawings.
• Update and maintain databases for ongoing technical information provided by customers.
• Ensure a robust supplier base for each item to comply with contract specifications.
• Foster relationships with suppliers associated with assigned contracts.
• Maintain supply chain redundancy to optimize cost and quality.
• Drive cost improvements and minimize supply lead times.
• Establish tiered pricing structures for individual items from suppliers.
• Gather current pricing and lead times, and carry out data entry tasks.
• Oversee workload related to assigned commodities and contract items.
• Review, track, and replenish inventory items as necessary.
• Conduct inventory forecasting analyses based on sales patterns and customer needs.
• Ensure quality assurance and compliance with contract requirements, adhering to government standards and AS9120B regulations.
• Manage First Article Testing and other quality testing procedures as required.
• Oversee technical data management.
• Communicate effectively with management and external providers.
• Address non-conformances with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Issue purchase orders and monitor backorders, expedited deliveries, and rescheduled orders.
• An Associate degree or 3 years of experience in procurement.
• Demonstrated experience in procurement or supply chain management is preferred.
• Military personnel with relevant training or experience may qualify in place of civilian experience.
• Strong negotiation skills to effectively collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
• Ability to read and interpret technical data and drawings effectively.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; must be able to effectively engage with others in various situations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Familiarity with ERP systems and inventory management software is advantageous.
• Proficiency in using JDEdwards EnterpriseOne Software is highly preferred.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident (green card holder).
