Business Systems Analyst, BSA

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Facilitate discovery sessions to grasp business outcomes, current processes, pain points, and desired future capabilities.

• Employ process mapping, user journeys, personas, business rules analysis, use cases, and workflow modeling to extract comprehensive requirements.

• Identify gaps, assumptions, dependencies, edge cases, impacts, conflicting stakeholder needs, missing decisions, downstream impacts, and implementation risks.

• Define user interactions, process impacts, governance considerations, business rules, and success metrics for AI-driven business solutions.

• Convert ambiguous business requests into detailed functional and non-functional requirements.

• Propel requirements towards an implementation-ready state with minimal downstream clarifications.

• Ensure requirements are thorough, traceable, testable, and aligned with business objectives.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to challenge assumptions and reveal unmet or unexpressed needs.

• Conduct process decomposition exercises as needed.

• Take ownership of work from requirements through to implementation.

• Develop requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and implementation plans.

• Manage and prioritize the product backlog.

• Lead sprint planning, backlog refinement, demonstrations, retrospectives, and releases as necessary.

• Maintain RAID logs, dependencies, milestones, and delivery plans.

• Identify issues promptly and proactively drive resolutions.

• Provide clear, fact-based status updates to stakeholders.

• Utilize Microsoft Azure DevOps (ADO) to facilitate delivery activities.

• Collaborate directly with senior business, analytics, data, and technology stakeholders.

• Manage competing priorities and aid stakeholder decision-making.

• Communicate risks, dependencies, trade-offs, and impacts effectively.

• Work independently with minimal management oversight.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in business analysis within a matrixed environment.

• Strong background in business analysis.

• Experience in participating or leading requirements gathering initiatives.

• Previous experience with AI-related projects and solutions.

• Proven capability to manage requirements phase activities and deliverables.

• Excellent skills in requirements gathering and analytical problem-solving.

• Strong Agile delivery experience, including backlog management, user stories, sprint planning, prioritization, testing, and releases.

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with challenging stakeholders and manage competing priorities.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to function effectively within a fast-paced and complex organization.

• Experience working with enterprise HR functions and stakeholders (preferred).

• Strong grasp of HR processes and functions (preferred).

• Experience collaborating with global organizations and cross-functional teams (preferred).

• Agile, Scrum, or Project Management certification (preferred).

• Strong understanding of how AI can address business challenges and generate value (preferred).

• Experience supporting AI-focused projects and programs from a requirements and testing perspective (preferred).

• Familiarity with generative AI tools to aid requirements and testing activities (preferred).
